Support local pollinators
Why are native plants your best choice?
Most native insects are picky eaters — monarch caterpillars, for example, can only survive on milkweed. Without the plants they depend on, these species go extinct quickly. But the good news is we can help right at home. By adding native plants to our yards, we create real habitat for local wildlife. Plus, native plants are naturally drought-tolerant and perfectly adapted to Utah’s climate, making them easier to grow and better for the environment.
Less water, more colors
Xeriscaping doesn’t mean a yard full of rocks — it can be vibrant, textured, and full of life. By swapping thirsty grass for native and drought-tolerant plants, you get a landscape that stays colorful through Utah’s hot, dry summers while using far less water. Flowers, grasses, and shrubs add movement and season-long interest, attract pollinators, and turn your yard into a thriving, low-maintenance ecosystem.
